What happens before the opera begins?

The experience starts before a single note is heard. Arrive early for a pre-performance talk exploring the opera you're about to see. Then, as you take your seat, discover The Things We Know, a monumental new artwork created for LA Opera by acclaimed Los Angeles-based artist Enrique Martínez Celaya.

Spanning 70 feet across the stage, the work transforms as the curtain rises—inviting audiences into a moment of discovery before the opera even begins.
