Los Angeles County Arts and Health Week Summit
On Friday, June 14, 2024, LA Opera held the third annual Los Angeles County Arts and Health Week Summit. Hosted by LA Opera in collaboration with LA County Supervisor Hilda L. Solis, First District; Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture; and Healing Arts—an initiative of the Jameel Arts & Health Lab—and the World Health Organization, this unique annual Summit offers conversations and participatory experiences, and promotes creative ways to approach wellness. Measuring the Impact of the Arts
Arts experiences have enormous value to individuals and society, but measurement of arts' impact has proven elusive. This presentation describes efforts at the NEA Research Lab at UCLA to develop an Arts Impact Measurement System (AIMS) and demonstrates its application live.

Keynote Presentation – Arts on Prescription: Centering the Arts in Creating Healthy Communities
Mounting evidence suggests that the arts have important roles to play in addressing critical public health issues, such as loneliness and chronic disease. This presentation highlights current opportunities for advancing access to the arts for health promotion through arts prescribing, as well as the work of artists and arts organizations in clinical and community settings.
