Suzanne Andrade is the founder and co-artistic director, with Paul Barritt, of the theater company 1927, which specializes in synchronizing live performances with animation to create magical theater. The company has toured extensively across five continents to 38 countries. For 1927, she wrote and directed the multi-award-winning shows Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, The Animals and Children Took to the Streets, Golem and Roots. Her latest show, Please right back, premiered at the Vienna Burgtheater in 2022 (as Mehr als alles auf der Welt) and was reimagined and redesigned for its English-language premiere in 2024. She directed and designed a double bill of Ravel’s L’Enfant et les Sortilèges and Stravinsky’s ballet Petrushka for Komische Oper Berlin, where it runs in the repertoire; a second production runs in the repertoire of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf.
