Elementary Student Matinees
Best field trip ever? (We think so.)
Kids experience the magic of opera with an interactive performance written just for them on an exciting trip to the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion—for free*.
Picture it: your class marvels at the golden fountain and glittering glass chandeliers before settling in to watch a show written especially for young people, featuring some of opera's greatest hits. Let's journey through the exciting world of opera together.
In Open Door Days, a trio of singers welcome you to the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, sharing the story of how it was built through the commitment of our founders, who found a spectacular place where stories are told through music. We'll learn how to enjoy opera with open ears, open eyes, and an open mind, featuring music from La Bohème, The Magic Flute, and The Girl of the Golden West.
Teachers who have been accepted must attend a required orientation via Zoom.
*Bus transportation not included.
