Alexandrea Martin Dean

Alex Martin is an American actress and film producer who is the daughter of Academy Award-winning actress and comedian Whoopi Goldberg. She was honored with the title of "Miss Golden Globe" at the 1994 Golden Globe Awards. She started acting in the 1990s and became known for movies such as Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit, Quest of the Delta Knights, American Intellectuals, Call Me Claus and Strange as Angels. In 2008, she was one of the producers of the animated short Descendants. In 2015, she and her best friend Leisa Weaver, daughter of actor Lee Weaver, began appearing on their own BET reality series, According to Alex, which revolved around her and her family. Since then, she has made guest appearances on several television shows including Good Morning America, Wendy: The Wendy Williams Show, The Chew and Rebel Hearts w/ Kristie Reeves, and she has also been a co-host on her mother's talk show, The View.
