Omar Crook

Omar Crook has appeared as a soloist on both the operatic and concert stage in venues throughout the world.

He made his LA Opera solo debut in The Two Foscari. He was the tenor soloist in the premiere of John Powell’s A Russian Requiem with the National Symphony of Uruguay in Montevideo. His many leading operatic roles include the Steersman in The Flying Dutchman, Fervio in Eric Whitacre’s Paradise Lost, Count Almaviva in The Barber of Seville, Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, Alfredo in La Traviata, Nemorino in The Elixir of Love, Tamino in The Magic Flute, and the title role of Albert Herring, .He has appeared in rarely performed works such as Rita by Donizetti and Goyescas by Enrique Granados, and he performed Des Grieux in the West Coast premiere of Auber’s Manon Lescaut.

As a studio singer, Mr. Crook has sung as a solo and ensemble artist in feature films including The Lorax, Happy Feet 2, John Wick 2 and The Putin Interviews. He has appeared as a soloist with the Boston Pops, Pacific Chorale, John Alexander Singers and the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra. He received his formal training at California State University at Fullerton.
