Jeannique Prospere
From: St. Lucia, West Indies. LA Opera: Costume Director since 2021; designer of additional costumes for La Bohème (2012, debut; 2016).
Jeannique Prospere is a theater professional with over 20 years of experience in costume design for theater, dance, and opera. A member of IATSE 826 since 2004, she has collaborated extensively with directors, choreographers, designers, and opera companies across the United States and internationally.
Her exquisite costumes for La Bohème, originally created for the company’s acclaimed revivals in 2012 and 2016, will grace the Lyric Opera of Chicago in March 2025 and will return to LA Opera in a future season. Jeannique joined LA Opera in 2006, contributing as Costume Design Manager to numerous productions over the years. In 2020, she was appointed Costume Director, where she now oversees the Costume, Wardrobe, and Wigs & Makeup departments. Renowned for her meticulous attention to detail and collaborative approach, Jeannique works closely with artistic teams to bring their creative visions to life for the stage.
